Senior Software Engineer

Own production systems end to end – disciplined Git workflow, agile delivery, quality and operations. Full-time from our Kurukshetra office.

About the Role

Join Calibyte's engineering team to build and run production systems – LMS platforms, client web applications, and automation workflows. You will work on real products such as eStudium and on client projects, and our university industry programs.

We are not looking for an expert in one particular language or framework. We care far more about how you work: a disciplined branching and review workflow, honest agile delivery, ownership of quality, and keeping what you ship running in production. If you bring that, you can pick up whichever stack a project needs.

This is an on-site role. You will work full-time from our office in Kurukshetra, Haryana. It is not a remote or hybrid position.

Responsibilities

  • Own features end to end, from refinement and design through release and post-release support
  • Work to a Gitflow branching model – feature branches, pull requests, peer code review, and clean release and hotfix flows
  • Take an active part in agile delivery: sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Build quality in rather than bolt it on – write and maintain automated tests, and take part in verification and validation before every release
  • Support build and deployment pipelines, monitoring, and incident response for the systems you ship
  • Review other engineers' work and mentor junior members of the team
  • Keep technical documentation current so the team is not dependent on any one person

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering experience
  • Strong command of Git and a Gitflow-style branching, review, and release workflow
  • Proven agile delivery experience (Scrum or Kanban) as part of a working team
  • A genuine QA mindset – unit and integration testing, test automation, defect triage, verification and validation
  • Operations awareness – CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments, logging, monitoring, and production support
  • Able to pick up whichever language, framework, or stack a project calls for; we do not hire for a single technology
  • Strong problem-solving skills and clear written and spoken communication
  • Available to work full-time from our Kurukshetra office

Nice to Have

  • Experience with LMS platforms or education technology
  • Hands-on work with Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
  • Test automation tooling such as Selenium, Postman, or Jasmine
  • Interest in mentoring university students on industry projects
